Preparing ENET for remote BMW work

Complete 4 simple steps: download two programs, connect the cable, launch TeamViewer and send the connection details to our specialist.

Prepare the laptop

Secure remote access to your laptop. Runs without installation.

Remote ENET

Creates a connection between the vehicle and our specialist. No installation is required.

Your desktop should now contain two files: TeamViewer QuickSupport and Remote ENET.

Connect the vehicle

Connect ENET to the BMW and laptop

    Locate the OBD diagnostic port

    It is located in the lower dashboard area on the driver's side.

    Connect the ENET OBD plug to the car

    Make sure the plug is fully seated and secure.

  3. 3
    Connect Ethernet to the laptop

    If the laptop has no Ethernet port, use a USB-to-Ethernet adapter.

  4. 4
    Switch the ignition on

    Do not start the engine unless the specialist asks you to.

Remote access

Launch TeamViewer QuickSupport

  1. 1
    Open the downloaded TeamViewer

    Allow the app to run if Windows displays a prompt.

  2. 2
    Wait for the ID and password

    Keep the TeamViewer window open during the session.

  3. 3
    Send the ID and password to our specialist

    Only send these details through the official BMW-Power support chat.

Final check

Everything is ready for the specialist

Ready to start

Send the TeamViewer ID and password to the specialist, then wait for the connection.

  • ENET is connected to the vehicle and laptop
  • The ignition is switched on
  • TeamViewer is running
  • The internet connection is stable

Do not disconnect the cable or switch off the ignition during the session. Wait until the specialist confirms that the work is complete.

Common questions before connecting

Do I need to install TeamViewer or Remote ENET?

No. Both programs run without installation. Simply save them to your desktop.

How can ENET and the internet work at the same time?

Connect ENET to the Ethernet port and use Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot for internet access.

What if my laptop has no Ethernet port?

Use a standard USB-to-Ethernet adapter and connect ENET before launching TeamViewer.

What if TeamViewer does not display an ID?

Check the internet connection, close and relaunch TeamViewer. If no ID appears, contact support.
