In MD1 and MG1 control units with I-Step versions from 2019 onward, DME tuning via OBD is locked. This tool enables control-unit writing via OBD after the firmware has been modified in Bench Mode.
Why is this needed?
After processing, this service allows you to write modified firmware files via OBD without removing the control unit. This is especially relevant for flashers such as BootMod3, MHD, MG Flasher, and others.
How does it work?
Read the Flash firmware from the DME using any programming tool that supports reading this ECU.
Upload the firmware to this generator and wait for the file to be processed.
After receiving the modified file, write it back to the engine control unit. Important! When writing, be sure to recalculate the checksum (most flashers usually do this automatically).
We strongly recommend making full EEPROM and FLASH backups before taking any action. You perform all operations at your own risk. The service is not responsible for improper use of the tool or for any other circumstances arising when working with this type of ECU.
