Disabling DPF (diesel particulate filter)
We carry out software shutdown of the particulate filter (DPF) on BMW vehicles.
How does a particulate filter work?
Diesel particulate filter (DPF, FAP, CSF)traps small particles of soot contained in exhaust gases. Over time, the filter becomes clogged, especially when using low-quality fuel and with high mileage. In this connection, the differential pressure sensor of the particulate filter transmits a signal to the computer system, which starts the regeneration process. The procedure for regenerating a particulate filter is reduced to burning it from accumulated soot in an automatic mode. In case of excessive clogging of the particulate filter and the impossibility of its regeneration, emergency mode is activated, which the driver is notified by a signal on the control panel. Further normal riding becomes impossible. At the same time, no cleaning of the particulate filter or switching to a non-original option will help - after a few tens of thousands of kilometers the situation will repeat itself, and if you find out the cost of replacing the filter with a new one, you will be very upset.
Programmatically disabling the diesel particulate filter guarantees the normal operation of the engine control unit without a diesel particulate filter, the absence of errors and problems with your BMW in the future.
