Rebuild an EEPROM image from a D-Flash dump. Free - right in your browser.
The dump contains errors or ambiguous block ordering. Verify the result before programming.
Common signs of a fault: the FRM3 may stop communicating with diagnostic equipment, power windows and turn signals may stop working, and the low-beam headlights may remain continuously on. Interior lighting and other lighting functions may also malfunction. Symptoms vary depending on the vehicle model and the type of fault.
An FRM failure may appear after a battery disconnect, a 12 V power interruption, diagnosis or a software update. BMW also describes compatibility issues between certain vehicle software and FRM hardware versions. A battery disconnect does not inevitably damage the module.
In an FRM3 with an MC9S12XEQ384, Flash memory emulates EEPROM. Corrupted emulation data can prevent the module from accessing EEPROM, while D-Flash records may still be readable with a programmer.
The converter rebuilds an EEPROM image from surviving records. Verify the 4 KB file and write it with a programmer; conversion does not repair hardware faults.

Rebuilds an EEPROM image using the dflash_to_eeprom algorithm. It does not clear fault codes, short circuit counters or mileage, or recalculate checksums. Clear the fault memory after installing the FRM3; reset short circuit counters separately if needed. Keep your original dump and verify the result before programming.
