EVAP disable (fuel vapor capture system)

DMTL - Diagnostics of fuel tank systems using a leak diagnostic module, installed on BMW cars supplied to the American market.

Quite often, BMW owners brought from America are faced with a constant error in the system for collecting vapor from a fuel tank. Often, the problem is a clogged absorber, as a result - the vacuum in the tank and the fuel pump does not have enough power to pump fuel, which in turn leads to a decrease in the car's power. Also, this error causes a warning lamp on the dashboard "Check engine" (in other words, a check of the engine). Most often during diagnostics, the error sounds like “Faulty DMTL (fuel tank leakage module)”, “Fuel tank ventilation system”, etc. and has a code of 2a17, 2A16 or the like.

The procedure for replacing the absorber is not cheap, and with the quality of gasoline in our countries it is not long-lasting, which is why owners of their BMWs often ask to turn off this system.

We reprogram the engine ECU, after which the machine “forgets” that it has this system.

It is possible to disable the function remotely , if you have a certain cable for communication with the machine (for E-series ICOM cable or (in some cases) d-can, for F-series cable ENET), as well as a laptop and the Internet.
