SRS unit (airbag unit, SRS control unit) is an electronic unit responsible for the operation of the entire SRS passive safety system.
After an accident and activation of any component of the SRS system, data on the accident (the so-called crash data ) arewritten to the SRS control unit . After restoring the SRS system components (airbags, pretensioners, etc.), it is absolutely necessary to delete the crash data, since with this error the SRS system will be inactive and the SRS safety lamp will be lit on the dashboard.
Symptoms of a malfunction of the SRS unit:
- Airbag (airbag) error is constantly on, although all airbags are working
- Diagnostics show error "Internal computer error" SRS unit
